Swap Game: April
Oh man, Alex really killed me on the swap game this month. Not only was I late to the post office with absolutely no good excuse, her swap was thematic and adorably packaged. I think my favorite parts were the handwritten “menu” of contents and a little knitted egg that pops into a chicken (I suspect Alex, a master craftswoman, may have made that little fella herself).I have no choice but to channel the shame over my inferior swap package into an EXCEPTIONAL effort for May. Here’s the stats for Alex’s triumph:
1. A trio of items - little girl-shaped candles +1
2. A square of ornate paper - covered in ice cream, no less +1
3. Something found locally - Ricotta-Orange caramels, made in Brooklyn +1
4. A postcard - dinner club postcard + 1
5. Something odd-sized - the pickle, the girl miniatures, and I suppose the matchstick garden (depending on how big I grow it : ) +1
6. A pair of opposites - interestingly, Alex failed to include this, despite it being the rule that she changed from last month…unless you count the chicken/egg…but I’m not because she’s already WAY ahead.7. A toy - I consider the chicken/egg a toy, because I can’t stop playing with it + 1
8. Something seasonal - Easter treats a-go-go +1
9. Something edible - caramels literally, the entire rest of the package figuratively. this was also the rule Alex added for April +1
10. Packages must be sent by the 25th (judging by the cancellation date on the stamp) +1
11. $15 max (not including postage) +1Total points = 10/11
Well played, my Swap Game friend! I see you next month (or in HELL).
